Honors Experience Three

CEAS Tribunal - Vice President of Collegiate Affairs

Serving as Vice President of Collegiate Affairs (VPCA) for the College of Engineering and Applied Science Tribunal allowed me to develop as a leader across multiple areas of student advocacy, professional development, and organizational collaboration. In this role, I served as the default presidential appointee, presided over Tribunal and Executive Board meetings in the president’s absence, and oversaw five committees: Academic Affairs, Career Development, Engineering Student Organization Council (ESOC), Engineer Your Major (EYM), and Equity and Inclusion. Supporting these committees required consistent communication, weekly meetings, and intentional delegation to ensure student voices were represented, initiatives progressed effectively, and large-scale events were executed successfully. Through this experience, I strengthened my leadership style by learning how to adapt to different teams, set clear action items, and balance accountability with encouragement.

The sample I selected is a photograph of the CEAS Tribunal Career Fair team, which exemplifies this learning in practice. While my VPCA role extended beyond the Career Fair, this image captures the culmination of leadership, coordination, and teamwork required to support a major CEAS initiative. The team worked from early morning to late evening to set up, run, and clean up the Engineering & IT Career Fair. I chose this photo because it represents resilience, collaboration, and service-oriented leadership values I consistently applied across all committees in my role as VPCA.
